AutoFormat as default input? Bugs

What unpleasant deity do I have prostrate myself before to get "Auto Format" as the default formatting option on my site? Most of my users are writers and such and have pre-formatted text for pasting, so the HTML formatting shouldn't be the first choice (plus I implemented smilies in AutoFormat :) <-- oh, you didn't see that, never mind...).

Thanks. I have a moderately busy Scoop 1.0b site (from CVS, a few months ago) on a beat-up, six-year-old server running (The One True OS) Solaris x86. Works great, loads of fun.

it's a var (none / 0) (#1)

Hm, competition eh? ;-)

You want the site control default_post_type. The description for that var is out of date; you can put either text, html, or auto in it.

Oddly enough, that was one of the vars I documented this afternoon, so it was fresh in my mind...
