Interested in MD5 hashed passwords ?

I am trying to integrate phorum and Scoop, and I have noticed that their password mechanisms are different (no surprise there).

I have modified Scoop to generate and store MD5 hashed passwords.

Would anyone be interested in integrating it fully in Scoop ?

The problem - Migration of User Passwords (5.00 / 1) (#3)

The trick is to effectively migrate users from passwords encoded using the old screwed up Crypt'ish mechanism, to the much better MD5 mechanism. As far as I can tell, the best way to achieve this, is to test the password encoding upon each user login and re-encode as an MD5, when apropriate. Site owners will need to be able to disable this migration behavior in Site Controls.
