All right, who broke the hotlist? Bugs

I first noticed it here, a couple of days ago. Then when I updated to cvs it showed up on my site as well.

The hotlist links (here) look like this: http://scoop.kuro5hin.org/|rootdir|/?op=displaystory(etc)

Now the funny thing is, |rootdir| is still interpolated, it's just also left there. On my site, which is a path-based install, the hotlist links looks like this: http://paradox.homeip.net/write-on/|rootdir|/?op=displaystory(etc)

This only shows up in the hotlist, as far as I've seen. All the other links are fine.

hey, look, I fixed it! (none / 0) (#1)
by janra on Wed Jul 04, 2001 at 07:18:10 PM PST

Not sure why I posted this as a bug then :-)

The hotlist_box has a line in it that looks like this:

$box_content .= qq~|dot| <A CLASS="light" HREF="\|rootdir\|/?op=displaystory;sid=$sid">$story->{title} </a> ($story->{commentcount} comment$end_s~;

see the backslash escapes in front of the pipes around 'rootdir'? Take them out and save the box. Problem solved.

I fixed it (none / 0) (#2)

That happens all the time, and I'm not 100% sure why, but then I don't really think about it :) The fix is easy, just open hotlist_box in the boxes editor, scroll down to near the bottom, and look for |rootdir|, though it'll be \|rootdir\|. Take away the backslashes, save it, and it should be fine.
